Ewing and Muriel Kauffman Memorial Garden in Kansas City, MO

The Ewing and Muriel Kauffman Memorial Garden is a botanic garden inside Kauffman Legacy Park. The 2-acre garden surrounded by limestone walls is a green island of serenity. It has over 7,000 marvelous plants and 350 varieties of beautiful flowers.

Guests can traverse the brick paths or sit on a bench to enjoy this green space in the city. The botanic garden is divided into The Allee, Green Garden, Orangery, Parterre Garden, and Secret Garden. The garden is free and open to the public, and it is wheelchair accessible. There is a limited capacity in the garden to preserve the tranquil atmosphere.

KCRep Copaken Stage in Downtown Kansas City

Kansas City Repertory Theatre is a professional theater company in Kansas City, MO. Patricia McIlrath started the Kansas City Repertory Theatre in 1964. The group’s mission is to share compelling stories and advance the art form of theater.

In 2007, they opened a second theater in downtown called KCRep Copaken Stage. The Copaken Stage is at 1 H&R Block Way in Downtown Kansas City. They have recently performed A Christmas Carol, Arabian Nights, Little Shop of Horrors, and The Glass Menagerie. KCRep Copaken Stage is a great place to watch first-class theater.

Arabia Steamboat Museum in River Market neighborhood

The Arabia was a steamboat that sank in the Missouri River near Kansas City in 1856. Over the next hundred years, the river shifted and the steamboat was discovered in a field in 1988. The museum for the boat opened in 1991 in the River Market neighborhood.

Arabia Steamboat Museum holds artifacts of the Arabia including the paddlewheel of the boat. The items found in the boat were clothing, fine china, children’s toys, guns, dishes, and jars of preserved food. Visitors can experience Kansas City and American history!
