Lake Jacomo is a man-made freshwater lake in Jackson County, MO. The lake has a limited-horsepower regulation for boats on the lake to create a more relaxed lake experience. You can rent or buy whatever you need at the marina like boat rentals or bait and tackle.

The lake is great for fishing. You can find bluegill, crappie, green sunfish, hybrid striped bass, and walleye in the lake. The 970-acre reservoir was created in 1959. Lake Jacomo is managed by the Jackson County Parks and Recreation.

Swope Park in Kansas City, MO

Swope Park is the biggest park in the city with 1,805 acres of green space and numerous activities to enjoy. Visitors can walk along the hiking trails or use the tennis courts, playgrounds, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, and swimming pool.

The park contains the Kansas City Zoo, Starlight Theatre, Lakeside Nature Center, Swope Soccer Village, and Swope Memorial Golf Course. The park was created in 1896 with land donated by Colonel Thomas H. Swope. Swope Park is free but some destinations inside such as the Kansas City Zoo are not free.
