Cool off during the summer heat! Oceans of Fun is a water theme park in Kansas City. The water park was built beside Worlds of Fun in 1982, and it is one of the biggest water parks in Missouri. In 2019, they added Riptide Raceway which is the longest slide in the country!

There is something for all ages at Oceans of Fun! Children will have a blast at Crocodile Isle which has mini water slides. For adults, Castaway Cove has a swim-up bar that serves tropical cocktails. The water park has been combined with Worlds of Fun since 2013 so a ticket for one is a ticket for both. The park is open May through September.

Shoal Creek Living History Museum in Kansas City

Shoal Creek Living History Museum is a historic village and nonprofit in Hodge Park. In 1975, historic buildings from the area were moved to Hodge Park to create Heritage Village. The village has buildings built from 1807-1885 and some replica buildings.

The living history museum opened in 2000 with volunteers serving as interpreters and caretakers. Re-enactors bring the living history village to life! You can see demonstrations and sometimes Civil War skirmishes. You can also check out the bison that live there. Shoal Creek Living History Museum is free except for special events.

Jesse James Bank Museum in MO

The Jesse James Bank Museum tells the story of outlaw Jesse James. The museum is located inside a historic bank in Liberty, MO which was famously robbed in 1866. Jesse James was born near Kearney, Missouri and became infamous for the brutal robberies and murders he committed from 1866 to his death in 1882.

The museum has period furniture including a Seth Thomas clock and the original Clay County Savings vault. Visitors can tour the former bank, and admission for adults is $6.50. The museum is managed by the Clay County Parks, Recreation and Historic Sites Department.
